01. ThatKidMaz - Third Eye ft. Mia Ayana

Melbourne’s ThatKidMaz thrives in the trippy jazz rap of ‘Third Eye’, floating over the melancholic keys and thumping kick drums of JUJO’s instrumental. The track is punctuated by a standout hook from Mia Ayana, whose soulful croons enhance the low key vibe. It appears on ThatKidMaz’s new EP Lil Eritrean Boy, which you can stream now.

02. Bbno$ - Sophisticated

A soulful sample loop and booming 808s serve as the perfect backdrop for bbno$ on ‘Sophisticated’. The track is a celebration, finding the rapper basking in the fruits of his labour, flowing with relaxed, effortless freedom.

03. Lara Andallo - Diamond In The Rough

The hook on ‘Diamond in the Rough’ is an automatic earworm, as Lara Andallo’s elegant vocals command with catchiness.  Spacious synths surround Lara’s voice and bouncy kicks and snare rolls make it an undeniable head-bopper. This is some high quality R&B, from a sizzling hot local prospect.

04. Jean Dawson - 3 HEADS*

Jean Dawson’s unique blend of rock, indie, and hip-hop continues to prove successful on ‘3 HEADS’. He seamlessly switches between swagger-rich shouts and smoothly sung passages, following an instrumental that’s packed with smashing drums and guitar sections that range from heavy licks to mellow jangles. We can only hope this is the sign of a new project in the near future.

05. Kenny Mason - Dip! ft. DavidTheTragic

The weirdness of ‘Dip!’ is apparent as soon as you click play. A lo-fi synth loop buries itself in some heavy sub-bass, providing a minimalist soundbed for Kenny Mason’s ear-catching hook. His flow is laid back and effortless, all while forming an instant dynamic duo alongside a sleek feature from DavidTheTragic. It’s an instant highlight from Kenny’s 3 piece PUP PACK, which you can stream now.

06. ASHWARYA - Can't Relate

ASHWARYA’s style finds comfort in the peculiar, and ‘Can’t Relate’ is no different. Produced by Stevan, the track comes out the gate chaotic, hitting you with giant waves of distorted bass. ASHWARYA approaches the pandemonium with poise, firing off quick rap frenzies with ease. You never know what to expect from this Melbourne up-and-comer, but it’s bound to always hit.

07. Greentea Peng - Look To Him

Look To Him’ details a journey of looking to yourself for creativity, as opposed to seeking inspiration in others. Greentea Peng’s introspective storytelling is enhanced by the rumbles of a bassline groove and the tapping of a drumset. It allows the artist’s soulful voice to steer this track into a transcendent feeling of meditation.

08. Sacredd - Yankees

Sacredd’s ‘Yankees’ is an instant home run, hitting it out of the park as soon as the bellowing bass of the drill instrumental drops. Serving as both the producer and pen behind this energetic cut, the Adelaide rapper matches her high-octane flow with a brass loop and rattling hi-hats. This track serves as the opener for her new project Sanctified, which you can stream now.

09. Chruch & AP - MADE4DIS

Church & AP are New Zealand rap royalty at this point, and there’s no denything that they were ‘MADE4DIS’. This latest track features the KO-punch sounds of Dera Meelan, and finds Church & AP doing what they do best; spitting bars. It’s 2 minutes of braggadocious barrages and a moshpit-ready bounce.

010. Khi'leb - Cheques ft. Creed Tha Kid

Cheques’ showcases the best of Brisbane, in the form of a club-ready banger. Khi’leb’s delivery is low-key, quietly commanding the hypnotic bounce of the production with a swagger-rich flow. Creed Tha Kid pops in for the second verse, catching your attention with his woozy, rap-sung cadence. It’s an ideal cut to kick off your weekend.
